When the door is against the berm, the window is the exit.

Mining, construction and agricultural machines put a single operator inside a ROPS cabin with toughened glass. After rollover, tip-over or collision, the primary door is frequently blocked by ground, spoil or another machine. When the door is blocked, jammed or damaged, Safe-T-PunchTM can be positioned both inside and outside the cabin, allowing for operator egress and emergency access into a cabin if the operator is injured. OEMs traditionally supply a loose emergency hammer — equipment that OEM safety bulletins show can fail if technique is imperfect, and that is routinely missing after service. Safe-T-PunchTM stays bonded to the correct pane, ready for a controlled strike without hunting for a tool.

Mining

Mining vehicles & excavators

Haul trucks, LHDs, drills and excavators work against faces and in confined headings. Rollover or wall contact can pin the cab door shut. Industry practice still leans on rear-window hammers; manufacturers have issued critical notices when incorrect strike angle left toughened glass intact under emergency conditions.

How Safe-T-PunchTM Helps

A fixed tungsten-carbide tip at the designated exit removes technique guesswork and tool inventory risk. Operators strike the marked device rather than searching for a hammer and aiming for a weak spot while inverted or injured. Specialised bodies tolerate dust, wash-down and chemical exposure.

Construction

Engineering & construction plant

Excavators, dozers and wheeled loaders on civil sites tip, slide and collide with structures. Cabs fill with dust and PPE; loose hammers migrate into door pockets or leave the machine during hire transfers. Submersion in flooded excavations adds another egress scenario where seconds count.

How Safe-T-PunchTM Helps

Permanent fitment survives hire fleets and multi-shift crews. The device is always at the emergency glass — visible to the operator and to trainers during induction — supporting site egress procedures without depending on a checklist item that often fails audit.

Heavy lift

Articulated trucks & cranes

Articulated dump trucks and crane upperworks place operators high above ground. After tip-over, the cab orientation may put the door against the earth while the operator hangs in a harness. Cutting a seatbelt still leaves toughened glass as the only shell to breach.

How Safe-T-PunchTM Helps

Low operating force (~3 J) and a fixed strike point suit one-handed use from awkward postures. Because the punch cannot fall out of a bracket during the incident, the escape path remains where the cab glass is — not on the floor of a tumbled cabin.

Ag & forestry

Agricultural & forestry equipment

Tractors, harvesters and forwarders operate alone for long periods. Rollover into ditches, soft ground or watercourses is a recognised rural risk. Forestry cabs face impact from stems; doors may jam against timber. Emergency hammers share cab space with tools and are easily borrowed and not returned.

How Safe-T-PunchTM Helps

Bonded installation keeps egress capability with the machine through seasons of contracting work. Mechanical function is unaffected by battery isolation or aftermarket electronics, and remains usable if the cab floods — a scenario where loose tools float or sink out of reach.
